"An Attorney Who Has Walked with the Korean-American Community for Over 20 Years, with Heartfelt Commitment to Service and Integrity"
I am Wooseok Gio Chang, a Massachusetts/New York-based attorney with over two decades of experience.
Beyond providing legal services, I have dedicated my professional life to supporting the Korean-American community through meaningful engagement and responsibility.
My legal philosophy is rooted not only in advocacy but in cultivating lasting trust within the community I serve.
From 2019 to 2020, I served as the 40th President of the Korean American Society of Massachusetts Boston, dedicating two years to community leadership without compensation.
When I declared my candidacy, I personally submitted a $5,000 deposit and stepped up to rebuild the organization, which had been inactive for several years.
Many assumed the role came with financial rewards, but in reality, I also bore the responsibility of leading the organizationโs fundraisingโincluding collecting $20 annual membership fees and securing board contributions.
I accepted the role not for personal benefit, but out of a deep sense of duty and commitment to the Korean American community.
That spirit continues to guide me in my work today.
My commitment to the Korean-American community continues through various civic roles, including as a Board Member of the New Hampshire Korean-American Association (2012~2015)
I have actively participated in scholarship programs for Korean-American youth, mentored church-based youth leadership, and provided free legal consultations to help vulnerable individuals and families.
๐๏ธ I also serve as a Council Member for the Korean National Unification Advisory Council, Boston Chapter, with appointments across 18th Term (2017 โ 2019), 19th Term (2019 โ 2021) & 21st Term (2023 โ 2025 present)
My service over six cumulative years has been dedicated to promoting peace on the Korean Peninsula and encouraging civic engagement among Korean-American residents.
๐ค Additionally, I have supported the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Robot Enterprise Promotion Association (REPA) for more than a decade by assisting its delegations visiting Boston and other U.S. regions.
I have helped connect REPA with local networks, translators, and industrial partners.
In recognition of my continued support, I was officially appointed as a REPA Advisory Member by Chairman Changho Kim.
I continue to assist as a bridge for industrial, technological, and cultural cooperation.

To me, law is more than a professionโ
It is a means to connect people, protect dignity, and strengthen the fabric of our communities.
I have always lived and worked within the Korean-American community, and I intend to continue walking with it.
"The path I have walked is more than a personal storyโ
it is my hope that it may inspire and guide our community toward a more just and unified future."
